it would be an understatement to say that cocktail bar Maybe Sammy has cultivated a big reputation in Sydney, but now the rest of the world is waking up to the good thing we've got going on Harrington Street.

The bar, best known for its experimental and absolutely delicious cocktails placed a staggering 15th in the world in the recent World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 competition. Talk about setting the bar high!

Described by the awarding body as ‘the cocktail bar where great stories begin’, Maybe Sammy is a place that will leave you constantly guessing, never knowing what’s about to happen next. 

When we popped down midweek, one cocktail was served with a round of applause from the entire bar, one was served in a rubber duck and another was served in a fountain of bubbles. But don’t be fooled - it’s not all gimmicks and laughs. Their most recent Mirage menu was months in the making and the result? An anthology of some of their best drinks yet.

Not just content with coming 15th, Maybe Sammy was actually crowned The Best Bar in Australasia for an incredible fifth time, having won the title every year since its launch in 2019, whilst Melbourne’s Caretaker’s Cottage joined the list for the first time at No.23.
